"Devilish"

Face it girls, life is more fun when you are a little bad!

watercolor on coldpress paper, 8"x10"

An odd sort of painting...

I saw this at a funeral home when I was unfortunately attending my great aunt's funeral. I thought it was an odd sort of painting for a funeral home, but I still liked it. The little girl has such a look of longing as she perches backwards in her chair, facing away from whatever she should have been doing. The posture and the half hidden face makes her seem detached. The entire piece looks ghostly. I wish I had her hanging up in my house.

Seahorse Mermaid

We'll ride out the waves
And the storms in the sea.
Oh, it's you that I crave,
And you that I need.

We'll throw caution aside
And cast out our fear.
For this reckless ride,
Love, I just want you near.

Nothing can touch me
With you by my side,
So we'll ride out recklessly
Breakneck through the tide.

We are soul mates, my dear.
Oh, it's you that I crave.
My love, this much is clear,
That we'll ride out the waves.
